TRENTON TOWNSHIP TRUSTEES’ REGULAR MEETING
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2026, 7 p.m.
HELD AT: Trenton Township Maintenance and Office Building, 15495 Hartford Road,
Sunbury, OH 43074
ROLL CALL: Chairman Fisher called the meeting to order. Roll call: Richard Fisher - here, Mark Almendinger –
here and Kevin Justice – here.
MINUTES: Fiscal Officer read minutes of September 2, 2026, meeting.

MANAGEMENT
REPORT: Trustees signed Management Report dated September 2, 2026
PUBLIC
PARTICIPATION: Ron VanWinkle said that the fog seal on the roads made a huge difference.
Doug Reidel from the Delaware County Engineers Office reported that the estimate of OPWC on
Murphy Road 2” overlay is a 3-1 match and Trenton’s portion is $30K. The Grant is evaluated this
fall and will be awarded February of 27 with work beginning after July.
Motion to complete paperwork acknowledging Mark Almendinger as project manager from Trenton
Township: Justice
Second: Fisher
Vote: all – yes, motion carried.
Fiscal Officer also signed the Certification of Local Funds of $35K from the General Fund
Doug Reidel also stated that Stockwell Road widening started on Monday and should be done by
October 15.
STORAGE
BUILDING: Justice approached the board about building a storage building for road and cemetery equipment
to be stored. It would be located where the recycling bins are. Building would cost approximately
$100K. Building would have a concrete floor, large roll-up garage doors to accommodate the
equipment and be approximately 40’ X 60’ in size. Walton will check with the Prosecutor regarding
the parameters for competitive bidding.
TRASH DAYS: Almendinger reported that Rumpke’s bills are still not correct.
BSTG FIRE
DEPARTMENT: Fisher reported that in July there were 176 calls with 22 being in Trenton. They hired 4 part-
timers. The levy info is on website and the levy is for 7.35 mills which is an increase over previous
operating levy. The fire dept. cancelled the Grand Opening because of legal reasons with the
building issues of construction. Building is functioning but not right. They have an 18-year-old
engine and are looking at a new engine that was started but not wanted from the factory. If they
purchase it, it would be $200K cheaper at $1.1m.

INSPECTOR
REPORT: Dattilo reported that he attended the DPRC Trustees and Prosecutor’s meeting. Motion to receive

CEMETERY: Any equipment Issues? No Barney reported on burial for Kevin Pierce and RAR poured four
footers.

ROADS: Any equipment Issues? No Barney reported that tar and chip is finished as well as all is fog
sealed. Stockwell Road is looking good. They have already moved a ton of dirt in 2 days. He put
a T connection pipe in Trenton Road. Wells came and fixed the stopped culvert and Barney filled
with 2’s. The cottonwood tree on the other side is causing the problem and Barney put in copper
sulfate to stop roots from growing and will keep an eye on it.
RECYCLING: Barney reported it is ok.
